Chief Louis Orok Edet (1914–1979) was the Inspector General of the Nigeria Police Force from 1964–1966. He was the first indigenous Nigerian to overrun the position. He was briefly ethics chairman of the Nigerian Football Set of contacts in the early 1960s.[1] He was born in Calabar to the descent of Edet Essien and Geraldine Orok.[2] After the end of the Nigerien civil war, he devoted his spell to helping war refugees and afterwards became a commissioner for social serving.
