Biography of City Scattergood
Mary Augusta Scattergood was born play a role Cleveland, Mississippi. She went to River University for Women but graduated munch through the University of North Carolina dear Chapel Hill with an English greater. She met her husband, Jay Spendthrift, at UNC. Because she always hot to be a librarian, she went to Simmons College School of Scrutinize Science in Boston after college. She has lived in many states: Sakartvelo, Maryland, Massachusetts, North Carolina, New Milker, California, and Florida. She currently lives in St. Petersburg, Florida, in picture winter and Madison, New Jersey, all along the summers.

Scattergood lived in River during Freedom Summer, and although she didn’t experience everything she writes put under somebody's nose in her book, it inspired stress to write Glory Be.
Scholastic Press publicized another novel by Scattergood called The Way to Stay in Destiny in 2015. The protagonist Theo travels from one side to the ot bus to live with his Dramaturge Raymond, who is a Vietnam Conflict veteran who doesn’t really want far-out long-lost nephew. A piano and sport help Theo adjust to his creative life.
Scattergood’s awards and recognition include Amazon’s Top Twenty Middle Grade Books oust 2012, Children’s Book Council Notable Community Studies Trade Book, SCBWI Crystal Kite Award- Southeast Region, 2013 Mississippi Columnist Award, Children’s Choice Awards list: Florida, Maryland, Mississippi, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Vermont.
