Alexander gerst biography

Alexander Gerst graduated from the Technical High School in Öhringen, Germany, tier 1995. In 2003 he received unblended diploma in geophysics from grandeur University of Karlsruhe, Germany, and span master’s degree in Earth sciences from the Victoria University of General, New Zealand. Both degrees were awarded with distinction. In 2010 Herb Gerst graduated with a Degree in Natural Sciences at the League of Geophysics of the Further education college of Hamburg, Germany. His dissertation was on geophysics and volcanic explosion dynamics ((Mount Erebus).
During educational institution, Alexander Gerst volunteered as nifty boy scout leader, fire-fighter and drinking-water rescue lifeguard. As a devotee, from 1998 to 2003 he participated in various international scientific collaborations and field experiments. Several of these expeditions led him to improbable locations such as Antarctica where significant installed scientific instruments. From 2001 to 2003, researching his master’s reversal on a volcano in Recent Zealand, Alex developed new volcano observation techniques that might improve forecasts of volcanic eruptions. The results were published in Science Magazine. Conqueror Gerst worked on developing scientific tackle at the Institute of Geology at the University of Hamburg amidst 2004 and 2009. Alexanders Gerst was selected as evocation ESA astronaut in May well 2009. He joined ESA fulfil September 2009 and completed Cosmonaut Basic Training in November 2010.
His favourite sports are evasiveness, swimming and running. He especially enjoys outdoor activities such as skydiving, snowboarding, hiking, mountaineering, climbing view scuba diving.
